The Heart of Petal Thread Studio
Petal Thread Studio was founded by Amanda Jack, a fashion creative with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fashion Design (First Class Hons), from Northumbria University, UK and over 20 years of experience in the industry, including leadership roles as a Design Director at Nordstrom. Throughout her career, Amanda led the creative development of fashion collections, guided trend direction, and collaborated across design, merchandising, textiles, and brand storytelling. This created a deep understanding of both the artistry and craftsmanship behind fashion.
While working in the fast-paced world of fashion, Amanda’s passion always remained rooted in the creative process itself: sketching ideas by hand, exploring textiles, studying color and texture, and finding inspiration in art, nature, vintage fashion, and floral design. Over time, she felt called to create a more personal and meaningful creative space one that celebrated hands-on artistry, creativity, and community connection.
That vision became Petal Thread Studio.
Inspired by the intersection of fashion, flowers, textiles, and art, the studio offers workshops and creative experiences designed to spark imagination and build confidence through making. Amanda combines her professional fashion background with her love of botanical art, sewing, surface design, and creative education to create experiences that feel both inspiring and approachable.
Petal Thread Studio is rooted in the belief that creativity should be accessible, joyful, and deeply personal. Whether someone is discovering sewing for the first time, exploring fashion illustration, or creating botanical textile art, Amanda hopes each class encourages people to slow down, reconnect with creativity, and experience the satisfaction of making something beautiful by hand.

Policies
Booking & Payment:
Registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis through our website. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure you and/or your child’s spot.
Cancellations & Refunds:
We understand plans change. Full refunds are available if you cancel at least 14 days before the workshop start date. Cancellations made within 7–13 days of the event will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the class.
Rescheduling:
You may request to move your booking to a future date once, provided you notify us at least 10 days in advance. Subject to availability.
Late Arrivals:
Our creative sessions begin promptly. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes early. To ensure a focused environment for all students, arrivals more than 15 minutes late may not be able to participate.
Age Requirements:
Each workshop is designed with specific developmental skills in mind. Please respect the age ranges listed for each class to ensure every child has a rewarding experience.
Safety & Photography:
Your child’s safety is our priority; we use age-appropriate tools and materials. We occasionally take photos of our artists and their work for our social media. Please let us know if you prefer your child not be photographed.
